Maia manifests as the very essence of the Myst Aether, the embodiment of arcane power and the divine understanding of that which is beyond the limits of natural law.

She chooses to reveal herself in the image of a young, beautiful nymph, often depicted in a frail and delicate position that belies the immense power she wields. Her hair flows in long, golden strands that shimmer like threads of pure starlight, while her eyes burn with the fiery amber of the Myst Aether itself, holding within them the secrets of all magic that has ever been or ever will be.

When clothed, her dress is simple and revealing, with depictions of stars and moons laced into the fabric, each celestial symbol a testament to her connection to the cosmic forces that govern the flow of magic throughout the universe. The Myst is a daunting and mysterious force that requires not only training, but often divine guidance as well, and Maia stands as the ultimate teacher and guardian of all magical knowledge.

The followers of Maia are keepers of arcane knowledge and practitioners of magic. Her clergy are scholars and sages, keepers of lore and secrets.

Whenever matters of the Arcane impact the life of mortals, there will be the presence of Maia, as her own essence is tied to that of the Myst. Especially when wild, unknown, or strange magic is encountered, this is where the goddess is addressed most, as only she is able to tame that which is untameable and only she can subdue the unpredictable forces from the Myst Aether to restore balance as she has done so countless times before.

Wherever magic is practiced and arcane knowledge is sought, Maia is called upon to guide the spellcaster to learn to control the power of the Myst. The Myst Weaver receives countless prayers from those seeking to master magic, unlock ancient secrets, or protect themselves from the dangers of wild magic.

The followers of Maia include mages who have devoted their lives to the study of spells, sorcerers who channel the raw power of magic, creatures who are born of the Myst itself, seekers of knowledge who hunt for ancient wisdom, and those who have learned to trust in the power of magic and arcane mastery.
