Manos Claye is the burning coals in the smith’s fire, the face of the smoke that bellows from the forge. His voice echoes like ringing steel as the anvil is struck.
He is the child of Lilith and Ura, born from the union of passion and the earth itself, and his presence is felt in every strike of the hammer and every spark of the forge. His eyes are like two red glowing orbs that burn with the intensity of molten metal, his voice the sound of the anvil strike and his whispers the sizzling of hot steel as it meets the quenching water.
Sometimes he will take on the form of a Fire Giant, towering over the forge with hands that can shape the most stubborn metal and eyes that see the potential in every raw material. The Smith Lord is ever present in the forge, no matter its size nor the skill of the creator, for he is the fire that smelts and the hammer that shapes, the divine force that transforms raw materials into works of art and utility.
Common Worship
Section titled “Common Worship”All of Manos Claye’s clerics are artisans in their own right. They toil the forge and create the best tools, jewelry, and weapons across Myrth.
Even an inexperienced worker can be blessed with the talent to craft, and even those who have years of knowledge can yet be blessed with a true masterpiece, for the Smith Lord’s blessing is not given based on skill alone, but on the purity of intent and the dedication to the craft. Those who work the metal, stone, and gems often call to the Master of the Forge seeking inspiration and providence, and those who benefit from the creations often give thanks to Madis alongside the forger, for both gods play their part in the cycle of creation and commerce.
In a number of civilizations who revere the artistry and craft of forge working, they will institutionalize the worship of Manos Claye within their guilds. Those guilds blessed through his worship are blessed with the most sought after masterpieces, for the divine touch of the Forge Father elevates their work beyond the realm of mere craftsmanship into the realm of true art.
The followers of Manos Claye are those who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of creation, who have seen the power of the forge and chosen to embrace it. They include smiths who have mastered the art of metalworking, miners who extract the raw materials from the earth, and steel workers who shape the bones of civilization.
