Opus sometimes takes on the form of a colossal Ent, his ancient bark weathered by countless ages and his branches reaching toward the heavens like the arms of a giant embracing the sky. At other times, he appears as a rumbling Earth Elemental, his body composed of living stone and soil that shifts and flows like the very bones of the world itself. Yet again, he may manifest as a giant Mushroom Tree, his towering build crowned with a vast canopy of fungal growth that glows with an otherworldly luminescence.

Always his face appears as an aged man within these visions, wearing a long beard that flows like cascading water and a faraway gaze that seems to look beyond the present moment, into the eternal cycles of growth and decay. Opus is the Father of Nature, solemn protector of the wilds, and Keeper of the Groves, a divine guardian whose presence brings both life and the wisdom of the ancient earth.

His presence brings with it the whisper of wind through leaves and the certainty that nature will always find a way to endure.

The followers of Opus are looked upon with deep respect in most parts of the world. Though he claims Gaia as his domain, his presence is most prevalent in the forests and mountains of the material realm-only going back to his roots for slumber. His clergy are mostly druids, though many rangers also follow his teachings. The Treefather is regarded by all who live in harmony with nature.

His blessings keep the forests lush and food abundant, but also keep the wilderness at peace so that man can live in harmonic, close proximity to it. The Father of Gaia accepts all who obey his ideals of temperance when within this realm, respecting all the creatures that call the forests and mountains their home, but he also lashes out at those who disturb his sanctuaries and kill his creatures without purpose.

Wherever forests grow and mountains rise, Opus is called upon to guide the seeker and to unleash the power of nature on trespassers. Whether to grant some form of divine protection or to provide the wisdom to live in harmony with the wild, the Keeper of the Groves receives prayers from those seeking to protect the natural world, or maintain the delicate balance of his realm.

The followers of Opus are those who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of harmony with nature. They include rangers who have learned to live in harmony with the wild, druids who have mastered the art of communing with nature, and those who live in tune with the natural order of the world and have learned to trust in the power of the earth and the inevitability of nature’s triumph.
